Chapter 6
Willy's POV
This could be a problem. I'd better take a close look at this guy before he comes to dinner. He may be trouble or not but I can't let him get close to Sable or he could die. Who is he and why is he here at this point in time? Is it all innocent or is he here to cause problems? I can't help feeling like this and I have to make sure nobody gets close to her before it's time. I think I'll walk over to the Sloan place after we're finished lunch. I'll just tell Sable I'm going for a walk. So far, she hasn't asked me where I was this morning and I'm not about to tell her.
I put the dishes in the sink I'll get to them later when I return. "Sable, I'm going to go for a walk around the property to make sure everything is okay."
She nods her head and says that she thinks she'll lie down for a short nap and she'll see me when I return. I head out the door and turn toward the right path. I'm just going to have a quick visit with this Aron and see what he's all about.
Sable's POV
I'm so tired. I need to go to bed but first I'll do the dishes. I put the plug in the sink and start the water. I add the dish soap and load the lunch dishes into the water. As I grab the first plate I can't help letting my mind wander to what is going to happen. Can I prevent it or will I have to die to make it come to pass?
Aron's POV
What's happening to me? I must get out of here. I need to find out what's happening to me? It can't be time yet, the rest hasn't come to pass. I feel like I'm in a dense fog and I can't find my way out. I tear and scratch trying to discover a way to break through, but I'm being grabbed by a long claw-like arm. What did I do to deserve this? Now it's holding me in its vice-like grip. I thrash around trying to break free but it only holds tighter. The claws start to dig into my forearm. Aaaaagh, my arm feels like knives are being thrust into it and the pain is excruciating. I must not pass out. When will it stop? Oh God, I don't know how much longer I can last.
Willy's POV
There's the house but I don't see anyone about. Where is Aron? What's that? I hear it again, a high pitched shrieking. I run to the front door but it's locked. I hurry to the back and luckily the kitchen door is open. I slow down before I enter the house, I don't know what's there but I don't want to be blindsided. Nothing in the kitchen, I step into the hallway and cautiously look around. No sounds but a soft whimpering coming from the second floor. I head up the stairs two at a
time and look in the first room, no one there. There in the second room, I see a ball in the corner. Just as I approach it I realize it's a person. He turns to look at me with tears pouring down his face. The look of anguish on his face rips at my heart. This must be Aron, but what's wrong with him? Why is he crying? He holds out his left arm and I see blood running down. There are long claw-like marks running from his elbow to his wrist. Some parts of his arm are almost in shreds. I
gently help him up from the floor and lead him to the bathroom. I sit him on the toilet seat and start rummaging around for something to clean him up. I grab a towel, no don't know how long it's been there and don't want to take any chances on infection. Maybe I should take him to the hospital. "Aron, I'm Willy, a friend of Sable's. I'm here to help you. What happened? Where is the animal that did this to you? I'm taking you to a hospital."
"No," Aron pleaded. "No hospital, just patch me up I'll be fine. There is a first-aid kit in the kitchen, please just wrap up my arm. I'll be okay."
I'm not sure whether to listen to him or not but in the meantime I head for the kitchen to get the first-aid kit. "Where is it?" I yell.
"The second cupboard from the right, middle shelf."
"Got it!"
